This is OP. Actually, it is a hard question to answer. I'm wondering what you would do if you thought the child were guilty AND what you would do if you thought the child were innocent. Would you do things differently? If so, what would you do differently.
You get him a lawyer ASAP in either situation and you follow their advice. Meanwhile, don't let him talk with anyone about what happened, including you.
