Subject: 2021 AAP Admissions Thread
We got the in-pool email on Dec 7, the exact date mentioned in the timeline on the AAP page. No snail mail, as far as I remember.

IIRC, the “in-pool” notices were really late too—we got ours after the referral deadline. I think those notices came in the mail.
Our in pool notice was emailed.
I went back and looked. I got an email and a letter in the mail. But it came a week after the parent referral deadline.
Maybe next week...

I want my kid in so she doesn't form a contempt of school. By middle of first grade she already resented getting less teacher time and being asked to help classmates or take on classroom chores because she'd finished her work. And to my chagrin, she has a swelled head because she can see she's further along than classmates. She needs to be with a group of similar peers.

Since it's already end of Apr 6th, I think they have been mailed and we should get them sometime this week. Some people might get them tomorrow if they started mailing on Monday.

Those are not the benefits that my older DC saw. The benefits were not racial but were more related to teaching style and ability to teach asynchronous and 2e/gifted learners as well as a nerdier cohort.

Our school newsletter sent out today said “AAP School-Based Services (Level II-III) Referral Form due by April 23, 2021”
It would make no sense to have level III deadline the same day as notification for level IV (or even close to that date)
Students who apply for Level IV and are not accepted are automatically considered for Levels II and III, so it doesn’t affect it.
(Level II-III) Referral Forms due by April 23 are for next year. This has nothing to do with Level 4 placement.
It does IF your child doesn’t get in IV and you need to consider level III. I imagine a large portion of level III students are those that applied and didn’t get in to level IV so the two are related.
I will reiterate- students not accepted to Level IV are automatically considered for Level III so there is no need to resubmit any paperwork so that date isn’t something anyone needs to worry about if they applied for Level IV
