Shulem Shtisel, father of Akiva.. really lovely character. The actor who plays - Doval'e Glickman did fantastic job. His Patriarch.. is at the same respectful and approchable, bit heard headed but also somewhat flexible towards life. He is always aspiring to be wise authoritarian but sometimes he turns up to be silly and funny and has not problem with transitions. I love his calming voice and very leveled attitude. He brings so much peace and comforting presence to the show and it radiates from the screen.
He might have made few wrong choices towards Akiva but one can certainly not accuse him of ill will or mean-spiritedness. It is really fascinating character to be so many people in one.
I think he is a very caring father and grandfather above everything and what he wished to be put on his future grave" A Father and Educator" about describes the core of his being and self purpose.
Shulem is real, not perfect... as nobody is in life.. but
real and always aspiring to be the best father and grandfather figure in the best of ways.
Really amazing transformation.. and performance.
