Might have been "But I already have a perfectly good coat for the occasion so it wouldn't be okay for me to have this person buy me another coat." Even if that person is Oprah and the cost of even a really nice coat is absolutely nothing to her.


Would Oprah have offered to buy the coats of the poets laureate had they been white? Somehow I doubt it.

I think she looked very nice, but I wish she had totally avoided the color that Melania wore 4 years ago. I want a total break from that family.

To the person asking about gloves, my mom is a serial Neiman Marcus shopper, but she also gets all kinds of catalogs I’ve never heard of...including a fur and leather catalog. That might be a place to start.
