They probably need to be 75 or older.
I teach at a DC private but live in Maryland and got my first shot last week. I am eligible under 1b. To the PP who said that DC teachers are crossing into PG to get vaccinated, you can only get the vaccine in Maryland if you are a Maryland resident. You need to show ID and proof of residence.
So you are eligible ahead of those under 75 in 1C?

Why? We want equity. A designated group (just like 65plus for example) was deemed essential and offered vaccines. Bowser, because of her usual divisive self interested persona, carved out public school teachers from that group. Instead of including all teachers in DC.

You do realize that many public school teachers REFUSE to return in person?
You do realize that a large chunk of DCPS parents CHOSE online and:or refused an in person spot?
Let’s get the vaccines to the folks who work in environments where in person learning is desired.
Lol private school teachers don’t want to be in person and get sick. Only you parents want us there. . My 90 year old mother lives with me I have been asked in order to pay my bills to go teach in person and expose my loved ones.

Why? Because if you choose to work for or patronize a private system excused from govt regulations that attempt to ensure fairness and equity, you can’t cry foul when you find yourself in the wrong part of the Venn diagram.
