Maybe it will show up in the next season. From what I remember they were simply clubbers together - they went out and danced and got drunk. Not the most fascinating stuff really.

And where was her mother or someone who could truthfully level with her about what this marriage would actually be like? She really had no one to advise her at all.

I was so angry when the queen and Philip called a meeting with Charles and Diana and the queen called Diana out on her affairs - but not one word to Charles about his *mistress*. She did call him out in private when it was just the two of them, but she should have spoken up in front of Diana instead of making only Diana apologize and promise to do better. Sheesh - what about Charles?

Though I have to wonder whether these conversations actually took place. That’s something we’ll never know.

This is something I didn't understand either. Was it because her Grandmother was there "training her." I'm assuming the Spencer's thought it was a privilege that she was the chosen.

I was surprised they didn’t show Diana’s friendship with Fergie at all. By all accounts, they were best friends. In fact, Fergie was barely even mentioned. She and Andrew had quite the scandalous divorce too - I wonder if that will be covered next season.

I have zero recollection of there being any, so it must have been fast and very forgettable.

I didn't realize Margaret Thatcher had so much disdain for women, including her own daughter. And her hero worship of her father was disturbingly extreme in the way it created such an inflexible world view.

I'd also be really curious to know the truth about her relationship with her son and the way she exempted him from her individualistic bootstraps expectations.

If anyone has seen any good good write-ups about how much of The Crown adheres to what is publicly known about Thatcher, I'd be interested in any links. Most of what I've read is more about how accurately it reflects the truth about the royal family.

And having Princess Anne refer to a “revolving door” of men re: Diana was really below the belt. She was only known to be involved with two men - Hewitt and her bodyguard. They made her sound like a tramp - not fair at all, considering Charles was having an affair with Camilla throughout the entire marriage.

No I'm sorry the British knew about a slew of other men including actors, musicians, etc some of whom have only years later admitted to it. It was indeed a revolving door and considered part of a mania that she went through at that time.
