100 transparent, hilarious. He's working a cornpone, "Well, golly gee fellas I wish I could help ya more" angle and it starts falling apart as the interview goes on. There's no big mystery. He was surfing the Net, while driving, and he hit and killed a guy. Then he started lying to try to get out of it. It's working so far. MAGA!
No sarcasm, how do you prove he was surfing the net at the exact moment of or moment before impact? Does a 2011 Ford Taurus have features that record precise time of a crash?
And if he had so much to hide, why did a lawyer not lawyer up immediately? I thought he came across well in the interviews. You want to beat him up because he's a Republican and you're just assuming he's a liar, go ahead. I was trying to be impartial and I think he came across overly forthright.
If he was trying to be a sneak, he would have lawyered up and destroyed the phone he was surfing the net on.

AG: "Uh, I think I hit a deer?"
Real cops: "How do you explain the head-shaped hole in your windshield and the victim's glasses inside your car?"

How did they capture this photo? HE DROVE THIS DAMAGED CAR THE NEXT DAY (BACK TO THE SCENE)????????
No, this is the next morning. The police took this photo.
Hyde County Sheriff Volek arrived in the middle of the night and gave the AG his personal vehicle. AG drove back to Pierre.
The AG then drove Sheriff Volek's car back the next day. Before dropping it off, he decided to stop by the crash site and then found "the body in the grass on the other side of the ditch."
Here's the AG's BS statement on the fact pattern: https://www.newscenter1.tv/content/uploads/2020/09/stmt.pdf
I don't follow. How did the red car get back to the crash scene? Towed or driven -- driven by who?

Don't worry, everyone! “Jason exemplifies the Midwestern values of honesty and integrity.”

What do you think? Google Street View is incredible.

No one is saying that he meant to hit the other man. And accidents happen.
Was he driving drunk? We'll never know. Apparently driving while texting/web surfing isn't that bad in South Dakota, although in other places it might be.
What's the worst part of the incident is the way he has lied and evaded taking responsibility. He has acted like someone covering up wrongdoing. Here, the coverup is worse than the crime.
