our pool announced you can lap swim 5x a week for 1 hr, but the kicker is that it is only available for those 18+ which is ridiculous and would mean half the lifeguards aren't even allowed to lap swim.

That’s what was cited by my pool (Newington Forest pool) when they closed for the year (instead of just waiting until Phase 2 to open with gatherings of 50) and if it turns out they just read the guidance wrong, I’m going to be so pissed.
Yikes. I don’t think rolling valley got that impression. Our governor is stupid if he doesn’t realize what a community pool is like. They are all over Virginia and not just for exercise.

Well, they didn't read the guidance wrong b/c there is no published guidance for Phase 2. They may or may not have read the tea leaves wrong. There is a rumor circulating that the people drafting the aquatics guidance think that it needs to be exercise only. I personally think this demonstrates their lack of understanding of what community pools are like. They seem to think that recreational swimming somehow means wall to wall people. I would encourage anyone who is concerned about this to write the Governor. https://www.governor.virginia.gov/constituent-services/communicating-with-the-governors-office/ as well as your state delegate and senator. https://whosmy.virginiageneralassembly.gov/
'recreation' is allowed to happen at beaches. Restaurants are allowed to open to outdoor seating. Why on earth would pools not be allowed to open with capacity controls?

Chesterbrook is opening June 11th Dominion Hills is opening June 13th. Arlington Forest says its opening 'later in June.' Kent Gardens is planning to open, but I haven't seen a date. I have no idea what Poplar Heights is doing.
Haven't heard anything from most of these, not sure where this info is coming from
I can only speak for Overlee, which keeps its members informed. I assume others do too; do you think that the pp just came up with fictitious dates?
