LOL so they play for Arlington but are not Arlington? Wow! I bet you do not talk to those kids and parents. Youth soccer! So how many years must you live in Arlington and play on an Arlington team to be considered an Arlington kid? Guess you should forfeit all the wins?
I think the poster was making a point about residence, that's all. Most boys DA players are from outside Arlington, which you'd actually expect for a DA. Doesn't mean they won't stay, and doesn't mean Arlington residents already playing in Arlington DA arent good. This is true for almost all the DAs - Bethesda draws a ton of players from outside Bethesda. Why so touchy about this?

Their would be more than a few parents feeling shocked at Mclean and Bryc when their kids are sent out the door in favor of former Arlington DA kids.
I assume this is for very young teams? The older teams at Arlington are not as strong already as the teams in ECNL boys. VDA, BRYC, McLean or Loudoun.
Very young? Let's just look at ECNL age and then U12 (which these clubs denominate as pre-ECNL). Here are the local VA teams that are ranked higher than the highest ranked VA ECNL boys teams:
U12: Alexandria
U13: Arlington DA, SYC, Alexandria, Sterling, Great Falls Reston
U14: Alexandria, Herndon, Arlington, DA, Doradus, Arlington Red
U15: Alexandria, Arlington DA, SYC
U16: Arlington DA
So yes, if I am in the ECNL, and want to play the best in each age group, looks like there are a number of other clubs above the best VA ECNL teams
You got trolled.

"U16: Arlington DA"
Only Arlington family calls U16 team as DA team, everyone else knows that there is no DA for U16 at Arlington.
LOL.

Haven’t we already discussed how meaningless these rankings are... Whatever math is used behind the scenes, it does not take in strength of competition. So if a team is cleaning up in a weak league they rank higher. It is no different than the gotsoccer silliness.
It's not gotsoccer - it's youthsoccr -- and it's more objective than blanket statements like "All older ECNL boys teams are better than Arlington." It's a reality check It does take into account strength of competition - what you said is completely false. Strength of competition is infinitely more important than win-loss record in their rankings. Can we just stop flat out lies like this?
W H O C A R E S.
None of this matters. It wont change a thing. Get over it. Deals are done. I am an ASA parent DA parent. And I pretty much know that they are not getting a slot on ECNL considering nothing has been announced. And, I am pretty sure we are not getting MLS either. Time for everyone to just move on and do what you feel is best for your kid. None of the teams listed above will be together or the same when the game starts again. The kids are going to be swapping teams all over the place. Sheesh....

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Both Arlington and FCV will be able to join, it is all about timing.
The local clubs are not a problem, I do not think MYS or BRYC would be able to block ( they probably want to for sure). Look the club density of of west coast, there is no problem to add 2 more.
The situation is If Arlington boys do not join ecnl, girls have to wait to the next year.
FCV burned the bridge, they have to work hard to repair it.
My Question is, why any club would not want to all in a league/system?
You have to believe in a product before you sell it, does Arlington believe MLS 2 age groups league would work for the local soccer sheep families?
The density of the west coast is supplemented, due to the density of the west coast. Much bigger population.
