Okay, so the federal courts blocked Abbott’s attempt to limit ballot drop-boxes:

Could someone please shed some light on how the recent 6th Circuit decision intersects with the recent TX and WI rulings?

TIA

Yes, thanks, I hear you. Other opinions more than welcome.

So am I correct in thinking that if the Dems take it to the SC, and the SC refuses to hear the case, it would then be returned to the 7th for a full review?

Thanks again.

I'm the former lawyer - I'm def not the final word on this! Others may disagree. But I don't see anything in this that would require, or even recommend, recusal.

And I say that as someone heartbroken she is likely going to be appointed to the bench, who hates Trump to the depths of my soul.

Thank you?

Former lawyer here - I can't see any reason why she'd have to recuse in either case.

This decision by the 7th Appeals Court should be considered in context to the efforts to suppress voting in other states.

The 7th is home to Amy Coney Barrett. She did not rule on this case, but might well end up participating in a decision if she is slammed on to the SC before the election.
