They are no longer testing potential cases. They don’t want to show new cases unless they are from foreigners. Chinese social media is full of stories of people turned away and deaths being listed as pneumonia but without a COVID test taking place.

It just sounds so clueless...
And yet they did a better job than we are doing. In China, OP would have been tested. Too bad she lives in a shithole country.
You really are clueless. Maybe go spend a week in China and then you can come back and tell us what a great a country it is. Heck, move there if it's so fantastic.
We are so much healthier in this country and it really does look as though Americans are not being hit as hard by this virus. That is such great news.
I didn’t say it was a great country. I just said they handled the outbreak better than we are doing. It’s a good thing we may not get as hard - even mire innocent lives would be lost due to the criminal mismanagement of our response.
They first off, didn't know what they were dealing with at first. Secondly, their citizens are apparently not in good health (smoking and bad pollution) and, finally, at least one disabled teen was left to die alone in an apartment and toddlers were left alone to fend for themselves when their caregivers were quarantined away in a hospital. Plus, I have read on this thread were the Chinese people were literally shooting their citizens for daring to come out of their homes. That is horrific.
By comparison, Trump has made some good calls which have limited the damage in our country. We appear to faring much better than other parts of the world and we should be grateful for that. I think that as long as our local leaders behave responsibly and with sound judgement we will get through this ordeal and we will recover economically from it.
I am glad that Trump has done the right thing and resisted the pressure to over react in a heavy handed and damaging way. I know it's early to call it and that viruses can be unpredictable but...this really does not seem to be as bad as initially feared.
I live in Florida - land of the cruise ships, theme parks, beaches, major tourist destination and we have had 5 deaths from this virus so far which is terrible but it's not the catastrophic numbers that one might expect given the situation. I am really hoping and praying that things will return to normal soon.
Newsflash: hoping and praying won’t save lives.
Trump has done crappy job and that will result in more people DYING.

You need a link???! As of a week ago, he was still calling it a hoax!

I am white, wealthy, and have very good doctors. There are no tests right now.
Rich people with money to travel are going to be going to all the nice hospitals for testing. So of course those hospitals are going to run out of tests. Try a hospital that isn’t mentioned all the time on DCUM. We have tests as we aren’t using them much. Granted, that will eventually change.

This is a stupid question at this point in time. With the lack of testing capability, we don't know who has it and who doesn't and its best to assume it is widespread and that's why folks need to STAY HOME! Slow the spread. We all know someone who has it right now, we just don't have the tests.
I understand six degrees and all of that, but where is this coming from?
Epidemiologists estimate that right now about 1% of the US population is infected
