We look the other way when it results in low wages, poor working conditions and increased human trafficking, etc.
And Democrats want to call that ‘humane’?
Actually, it’s insane. And needs to end.
We got here because corporations and family businesses like the Trump organization prefer to hire illegal immigrants. Also Republicans kill any legislation to increase wages or implement e-verify.

Illegal immigration hurts African Americans more than any other demographic. Democrats don't care.
Black people aren't dumb. They vote in the neighborhood of 90% for Democrats for a reason. Democrats sure aren't perfect, but Republican policies hurt them, and Republican voters look down on them.

When people feel stressed about money, it’s human nature to lash out at those perceived as getting a free ride or those perceived as a threat.
“I did everything right: worked hard in school, work hard at my job, pay my taxes, etc., so why should “those people” get a free ride?”
Trump knew this anger was bubbling under the surface because he literally paid staff to listen/watch conservative news/talk shows. He built a platform on this, and it worked. Why? Because even moderates and some liberals feel stretched and stressed, making them susceptible to his manipulative talking points.
This isn’t surprising. Racism and classism aren’t unique to America. Go look at Africa and South America and Asia. When economic inequality takes hold, people lash out to protect what they have. Human nature.
And the Dems aren’t exactly victims. The Dems on the Hill has a hand in the policies that have harmed the middle class. This started in the 1970s.
Except that they are not just ‘manipulative talking points’.
When I see my tax money going to support illegal immigrants in MoCo, so much so that my kids’ schools are hiring more and more ESOL/support teachers while cutting music and art - it is frustrating.
When I see my neighborhood being taken over by illegal rentals that house these illegal immigrants, I am frustrated.
When I see the huge increase in hit and runs caused by illegal immigrant drivers who have been given drivers licenses by the Democratic leadership, I am frustrated.
You can pretend that illegal immigration is not a problem because it does not directly affect you. But it does affect some of us, and Democratic rhetoric does not provide any legitimate solutions to the issue.
I don't even want to hear what you think of African-Americans.
I want to know where this person lives.
I live in a part of MoCo that is not Potomac or Bethesda. Really, people all over MoCo face these issues - Wheaton, Silver Spring, Rockville, Gaithersburg, Germantown, even Olney.

"Don't see it my way? Well, you are RACIST then".
My way or the highway.... OK, highway ......... for YOU.
Bingo. This sums it up perfectly.
As the poster last page typed:
"Oh? You have something against illegal immigration, huh? Well, I can imagine what your views on African Americans must be!"
Setting aside the whole issue of multiple prejudices exemplified in one sentence on the part of the prog who typed that, it's an amazing insight into just how intellectually shallow their entire argument is. "You disagree with me? You're a racist!"
It's baffling that anyone even pays these dolts any attention at all.

More tolerant democrats, lolz!

The immigrants are on their way up, and their kids are mostly going to make it into the middle class. The native born people in poverty aren't going anywhere, and neither are their kids.

The conflation of the position of AAs in this country with anybody-not-white-male has been a disaster.
Your racism - against African Americans in particular, and the accompanying ignorance - is breathtaking.

I’m the PP.
You’re right! I was not disagreeing with your post. Just commenting that it’s not all manipulative talking points. Some of us see and experience the negative effects of illegal immigration want the issue addressed.
Agree that wealthy people of both parties benefit from the cheap labor and that’s why the issue has not been solved as of yet.
DP and I agree. But illegal immigration isn’t a widespread problem, overall they tend to be better behaved than citizens, pay in more through sales taxes and the like than they get out and let’s be honest, the immigration of many of our ancestors to this continent/country was questionably legal at best (unless you were Native American).
The reason I continually fault the GOP more for illegal immigration is that they continually empower businesses over workers. You want to pay your workers a sub-legal amount and house them in questionable housing and prevent them from exercising their rights? Quelle surprise American citizens don’t take those jobs, almost as if GOP business owners purposefully created some of those working conditions in order to draw more illegal immigrants who wouldn’t speak out, would accept low pay and dangerous conditions without a word.
And the GOP’s “solution” to this problem? Kidnap and jail kids. If you know the tiniest thing about child development, you know what utter cruelty this is. That’s not a response to illegal immigration, that’s sadism. Fine the businesses into the ground but my god let us regain some of our humanity.
People who cheer for that kind of cruelty? Those are the people undoing the country.
The immigration policy changed dramatically this summer. Google MPP/stay in Mexico policy.
The unpaid taxes bother me. And plenty of citizens play the system and avoid taxes (think: plumbers, contractors, restaurants, and anyone who deals in cash that can easily NOT be reported).
There is a very real impact on our schools in MoCo.
We can’t just have open borders. Google images for the tent cities in Mexico that popped up since the policy change.
