I did my research and see that for 9th they typically only have 40-50 slots open and receive 300 plus applicants. I would assume only kids with high GPAs and etc apply. How can your child stand out? I was told Sidwell doesn’t care if your child is an athlete. How true is this?
Is your family Quaker? Does your family attend Quaker meeting each Sunday? Have you been Quakers for years? Quaker schools came about to educate Quaker children
in the Quaker faith and still do so.
Sorry, but Sidwell does not give much of a boost to Quaker students.
Not true, Quakers are considered with the same priority as legacies and siblings.

Sure. Sure. Have you talked to any real Quakers lately?

I was seriously asking and I am not the same person who keeps bringing up football. I am asking because one pp said athletes don’t apply.
Athletes should apply, but understand, it is an academics-first school. But there are plenty of serious athletes who go on to play college etc sports. (and yes, the football team could use some help)
So could one infer from this statement Sidwell does no recruiting for athletes?
The prospective student-athlete must make first contact, per league rules.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Maybe athletes to apply but, Sidwell is not offering enough FA to be competitive with the other schools.
Sidwell is as generous with FA as most other schools in the region. It is based on need. They aren't going to toss someone a full ride whose parents make a million dollars a year.
