The story wasn't even widely publicized. Thank you to WJLA and FOX for getting the story the attention it needed.

I'm not advocating for completely open borders. I am saying that just because someone comes here illegally, doesn't mean they are going to ignore all laws. Tons of people go over the speed limit when they drive, and those same people would never murder, rape or steal.

And, I would argue, the reasons for the illegal immigration are much more compelling and understandable than the reasons people speed.

And regarding the child's absences? Of course the school tracks them, but it's not often you get a PPW and/or counselor or admin to make a home visit. In high schools, the likelihood of a visit is close to zero, especially in schools with high transience rates and poverty.

If I get a speeding ticket, I pay a hefty fine. If I get multiple speeding tickets, I can have my license taken away. The same should apply for illegal immigration.
