I am finding many stories that women over certain age gain weight on it, and that it needs to be combined with IF to actually work for weight loss.
Anonymous wrote:That somply cannot be true. Like any other diet, keto works because of calorie deficit. Those women probably gain weight because they think keto is some kind of magic where you can just exclude carbs and eat 2,500 calories. Doesn't work like that.

And then last week I just got fed up over little to no weight loss and got my period and ate ice cream and pretzels... I think the issue is that my food was way to limited. Can I really eat Jicama fries, Parmesan crisps, and a lot of cheese on keto? I think cheese is ruining it for me, but without it I am starving.
And how much limiting do you think I really need to do of keto friendly foods? Thanks so much!
Did you download an app? I use Carb Manager and it really helps with tracking your intake. For me, the increased fat of this way of eating makes me more satiated. I’m satisfied, my sweet tooth is gone, and I don’t snack nearly as much.
You can absolutely eat cheese!

Thanks so much! I eat barely any carbs while on it. I think I was eating too many proteins. I need an app, thanks, I thought I was doing it right, but likely not. I am researching about keto and over 45. It seems that it isn't so great for women approaching 50.
Really? Why not?
