Just when I thought DCUM couldn’t get any more absurd. OP, you are not doing your fellow liberals any favors here.

name 3 examples of a republican policy that helped people and didn't just help a few and screw the rest

You must be joking.

1) Deregulation and corporate tax reform to get the economy growing at 3% and delivering more and better jobs for everyone in the private sector (like, what, 100 million people?)

2) Getting rid of the crazy "Dear Colleague" regulations concerning rape in college campuses that stole the presumption of innocence and essential safeguards from over a million students...because they were male.

3) New laws favoring generic drugs to lower drug prices

You can also argue than a stronger military and the "new NAFTA" are going to help many people.

And the list continues.

LOL. Yes, let’s help the rapey frat bros. They really need help.

I see you have learned from Goebbels how to label, scapegoat, dehumanize and defame others.

I can't believe the PPs that think men need MORE protection after years and years and years of women not being taken seriously when they have tried to report rape, assault and harassment.

Finally calling men to the carpet for bad behavior is not labeling, not scapegoating, not dehumanizing, and not defaming. It's called justice.

I suspect the men who are so up in arms about recent events have reason to be scared. Times up scumbags.

This is amazing.

You truly are Goebbels reborn, and have no idea about what you are doing.

Nope. Due process has always been there for men and should be. Innocent until proven guilty. How do they need more than that? The real problem is that women don’t get their day in court. They don’t get close to justice.

My post is sincere. I think the modern GOP is basically evil so I am having a hard time understanding how someone can still be a Republican if they are a decent person.

I think that, when our country is working properly, Democrats should be the people who say, "How do you do this or that nice and modern thing for" poor people, children, sick people, other countries, etc.

Republicans should be the people who say, "But that's too" expensive, too naive, too poorly executed, etc.

We need Democrats to be the accelerator and Republicans to be the brake. Both are essential.

Surprise!

"Satisfaction With U.S. Direction Reaches 12-Year High" (In June 2018)

https://news.gallup.com/poll/235739/satisfaction-direction-reaches-year-high.aspx

In other words, its Republicans who actually improve people's living standards -- I'd say that's quite nice, but of course OP and friends may prefer Venezuela revolutionary values over American ones.

Surprise! Obama jump-started the economy and Trump hasn't managed to fully ruin it yet

Surprise, here you have an anti-science Dem

Look at the data in that chart -- you know how, I hope?

From 2009 to 2011, Obama did a great job.

From 2011 to 2016, he was mediocre at best.

From 2016 to 2018, Trump has done a pretty good job. (including taking the economy to levels no even dreamed by Dem neoBolsheviks)

When will you morons stop attributing the state of the economy to one man, the President, when any fool knows that the state of the economy depends on so many different factors and, in may cases, depends on things that happened long before this moment.

Hey, it's morons like you who spent years arguing that Saint Obama saved our economy...

You have just proven yourself an especially stupid person. I have never said that or would say it, because...read my post!
You know you are on an anonymous forum where you cannot attribute specific posts to a specific person unless they sign in, right? No, you don't grasp this, because you are an idiot.

You can't argue, so you insult. I hope you're not OP...

You just parroted a very convenient Dem bullet point. Now, show us where YOU said something in 2009 to the effect that Obama was NOT to be given credit for the improved economy.

During the Obama boom, it was Obama.

During the Trump boom, it's no one (or it is Obama too).

You're very funny.

And I will repeat, you are an idiot. It is an insult and also true. You are not making an argument that I can respond to, you are spinning a weird fantasy. I am telling you I don't give credit solely to any President for the current state of the economy and you keep insisting that I did for Obama. WTF is wrong with you?

Hey little joke, I made it very easy for you -- I asked you to produce any evidence of what you said in 2009.

You havent, so my best guess is, you're a little joke.

Sleep well, honey pea.

Now, where were you when Obama passed such hideous and regressive regulations?

Anonymous wrote:I know a lot of people who are both Republicans and who are otherwise good, kind, decent people.

The problem is that they have limited access to actual facts and figures and the ability to understand them in a way that isn't highly emotionally charged.

My FIL is a multimillionaire former CEO who is terrified of communism, immigrants and an estate tax, he doesn't believe in "handouts" but he and MIL financially support and subsidize most of their kids (as in, they bought houses for their kids, pay private school tuition, provide free vacations and even pay for their kids' housekeeping among other things).

They are all college educated, and yet they still all vote based on fear and taxes and have complete ignorance about things like Islam, Judaism, Catholicism, foreign countries (they have never traveled outside the US). They don't even know that one of our family members is secretly gay, even though he's 50 years old and still unmarried.

Their values aren't derived from logic and common sense and a real-world education.

They simply watch Fox all the time, Listen to AM radio in the car, and believe "reading" is buying Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity books.

They'll still drive you to your chemo, but they think Hillary Clinton should be in prison, even though she's never been found to have committed any crimes at all.

That's the bubble.

My DH is a republican but is none of these things. Didn’t vote for Trump and voted for Obama and thinks that the current Trump republican movement is a coup of the party. He just really strongly believes in personal freedoms, hates nanny-state and many regulations, has seen so much waste and abuse in the name of liberal policies. He believes that the price we pay for a free society is that if the people don’t want what’s best for them, you can’t force it on then. Pro-gay marriage, pro-choice, for legalization of marijuana, gun waiting periods, etc etc.

Why don’t you take a minute to ask this kind person about their beliefs without judgement and without feeling the need to debate. Might open your mind up a little?

Sorry, on this one, you are wrong. If you don't believe in non-binary people or don't want an abortion, that is up to you. But you don't get to project your religious insecurities on to other people.

So, you just object to one out of 7-8 examples of Obama-era policies harming millions of people. Thank you for the honesty...

Additionally, sorry but on that one I'm not wrong. Same as it is my interest as a fellow American to preserve your life, it's our interest to preserve unborn baby lives. And certainly it's in the interest of parents for millennia to ensure that people with penises don't go into women's restrooms.

Go spew your hate and bigotry elsewhere.

You've been brainwashed, my friend.

You were a baby once.

Yes, a wanted baby with parents who used birth control until they were ready to have me. All babies should be wanted.

GTF out of women's reproductive systems. You cannot FORCE them to give birth if that's not what they choose.

That's a barbaric approach, sorry. We're not talking about your hair style or the length of your nails.

Yes, it is a complex issue, but aborting a viable baby is something that society has a perfect right to regulate carefully.

It a decision between a woman and her doctor. Period.

You can’t FORCE women to give birth.

That's your DOGMA and as such I'm sure you truly believe it.

But it's not what SCIENCE or POLICY say.

You ask Science -- ever heard of her?

"According to studies between 2003 and 2005, 20 to 35 percent of babies born at 23 weeks of gestation survive, while 50 to 70 percent of babies born at 24 to 25 weeks, and more than 90 percent born at 26 to 27 weeks, survive."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fetal_viability

A good recent article:
https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/01/pro-life-pro-science/549308/

"Scientific progress is remaking the debate around abortion. When the U.S. Supreme Court decided Roe v. Wade, the case that led the way to legal abortion, it pegged most fetuses’ chance of viable life outside the womb at 28 weeks; after that point, it ruled, states could reasonably restrict women’s access to the procedure. Now, with new medical techniques, doctors are debating whether that threshold should be closer to 22 weeks. Like McGuire, today’s prospective moms and dads can learn more about their baby earlier into a pregnancy than their parents or grandparents. And like McGuire, when they see their fetus on an ultrasound, they may see humanizing qualities like smiles or claps, even if most scientists see random muscle movements."

What is “death panel”-y is to send viable babies to execution no-questions-asked.
