And those who are so quick to label the Ws as wealthy and white, do realize how offensive and bigoted you are? You are no better than those you claim (although I've never actually heard it from a W parent) refer to other schools in offensive ways.

Also, don't take your benz, bmw, or any other nice car because they don't have those up there so they will know it belongs to one of us! And make sure you text your kids before and after the game to know they are safe!" Not kidding, literally a group text i received from a mom today(i know, shocking). she literally acts like it is a different country. a little bit of an exaggeration Germantown isn't that bad, and I frequent the Wegmans there too so i know. don't know how much of this is true, but just to show Northwest definitely has a REALLY bad rep around here. a QO student did get robbed of their wallet and got beat up last time the game was there though, which is very scary(not same incident PP mentioned earlier).
Just yesterday I was walking around the shopping center kitty corner from Northwest, which Northwest high school students frequent, and it's really not an upscale shopping center (Shoppers is the biggest tenant), and it was after school too, and here is what happened: nothing. I got what I came for and then went home. Scary!

Notice they all have a W in their name. They are on the West side of the county and tend to have less economic (and therefore racial) diversity than the other schools in the county.
I was too dumb and poor to go to Wootton and even I know ther cheer so you don’t spell it wrong. “Double you double oh double Tee O N

I'm talking about the neighborhood near Kings Crossing local park. The park address is: 14221 Kings Crossing Blvd, Boyds, MD 20841. Her address is Boyds.
Look at a map. That's Germantown in all but zip code. There's a tiny corner of the 20841 zip code that sticks out into Germantown, not quite to Germantown Road. I mean, if you (or they) want to say that they live in Boyds, that's fine, but most people think of it as Germantown.
I have no dog in this fight as I don't live there. Just telling you what that postal office says. It's Boyds. Whether or not others think it should be Germantown instead of Boyds isn't really relevant.
You know what, as long as you get the numeric zip code right, the post office doesn't really care what word you put next to MD. You can address mail to Silver Spring, 20902 or Wheaton 20902 and it will get there. I'm sure you can send it to Boyds, 20841 or Germantown, 20841 and it will get there. There are places in this country where towns are towns and have actual borders and it matters what town you live in. Maryland is not one of those places. We have municipalities with defined borders (City of Rockville, Town of Kensington, etc) and we have large swaths of "unincorporated County" that people can argue forever about what they should be called. Much of the unincorporated eastern county is "Silver Spring" from downtown Silver Spring to much further north. There is no official right/wrong about these things. It's like fruits and vegetables. There's no official distinction, it's just how people think of them that matters (and sometimes people disagree). [/quote
Agreed. the zipcode is what matters. Anyway, my whole point wasn't to go on about the Boyds vs Germantown thing. My original point was to tell PP that there are nice areas besides Darnestown that feed into NW. One example is the Boyds (or to some, Germantown area near the Kings Crossing Park) that goes to NW high school. Spark Matsunaga, Diamond, and Ronald McNair are highly rated schools (in addition to Darnestown) that all end up in NW. Northwest isn't a dump that some of the people here like to claim.
