Is that happening next year? I keep hearing rumblings.

Rumor: U13's boys DA to drop for 2020-21 season like U12s did.
Rumblings: MLS to split or form their own league to play more internationals, other tournaments.

International teams come here for tournaments in the summer or during holiday breaks, but the idea that they are touring the US looking for competition during the league seasons is a fallacy. They are busy with their own league play during the season.

Highly doubt it. Wouldn't make sense for the MLS teams. Too much travel.

Much more likely the DA will just make whatever changes MLS wants. My guess is we'll see 1st & 2nd divisions within the DA, with pro-rel for non-MLS teams but MLS teams guaranteed 1st division status. Not saying that would be fair, but it would best serve the interests of the MLS, and that's kind of what US Soccer does.

But more importantly, can they still call themselves a “DA team”? I know that’s really important to Arlington parents

I think Club DA is done. There isn’t going to be an expansion in 2 years.

VDA boys didn't go to ECNL, just Loudoun.

Yet...

Nice try, they didn't get turned down for a full DA, already have it.

don't be so sure......MLS teams will likely drop and make DA just like the boys ECNL

Its very big at private schools. Several DA players have come back to play Senior year at our public HS.

Who is going down with the sinking ship? There will be so many coach and player shake ups this Spring.

Anonymous wrote:Multiple sources have confirmed that the Virginia Development Academy – born as a partnership between the Prince William Soccer, Inc., Virginia Soccer Association and Chantilly Youth Association to field a boys Development Academy program in 2014 – is set to move its top girls programming from Girls DA to ECNL. It’s the latest arrival in the latter league’s sustained push to grow its membership nationwide.

Arlington moving to girls DA is the antithesis of most of the other top girl Clubs. I wonder if the girls will eventually migrate away from Arlington in the older age groups like they used to.

The boys look to have a collapsing DA program. No U12, looks like no U13 in 2021 and they did not get expansion for U16.

I think we can pretty much say with Loudoun's migration that Club DA in the DMV is toast.

Idiotic post.

Girls VDA move happened last year.

Boys ecnl is a joke, and adding loudoun isn't going to help any because all their top players are going to leave.

At best we can say the partial DA experiment isn't working out, because as much as it makes sense from a big picture perspective (pyramid), it may not from the perspective of the individual clubs. Remains to be seen.
