I was always mesmerized by Air France crews’ “aremement de toboggan” don’t think any other airline announces that they are “arming / securing the slides”.

NP...DD from Fairfax County, 51 saw the photo and immediately said, "sliding board."

DD14 said, "[an old-fashioned] slide"

Sometimes I wonder why we don't see the full-scale playgrounds of my youth (with jungle gyms / monkey bars, see-saws / teeter-totters, merry-go-rounds / carousels, large swing sets, etc.) and then I remember all of the mischief we got into that would be grounds for lawsuits these days. Who among us hasn't busted a lip or broken a nose because of a cherry bump?

Sliding board! 45 from Philly suburbs. My midwestern husband thought I was crazy when I called it that. Happy to know I’m not alone!

The shopping cart was a “ buggy”
There was no “ take out”. Either your mama cooked or you went through the drive-thru

+1 exactly, though I'm 40. My kids are at camp this week in DC and this morning the counselor referred to the "sliding board", which made me smile. The term is still in use!

I am the OP of this thread and love that it popped back up, and love that sliding board is still in use! I wish I didn’t feel so self-conscious when I use the term now.
