I live in Baltimore County and was a Kamentz supporter before his unexpected death. Jealous is just too far left for me. I didn’t vote for Hogan last time, but I may. Or I may not vote for either.

What has Hogan done for Maryland? Where are the new businesses, transportation initiatives, and stellar education? Baltimore City is still a mess, and MOCO schools are overcrowded. I'm still waiting for people to list all the reasons why Hogan has been a good governor. Please post a list of achievements.

Do you know what the Montgomery County executive is responsible for, vs. what the Montgomery County council is responsible for? Also, do you know what the likely members of the upcoming county council (Rice, Katz, Navarro, Hucker, Friedson, Riemer, Albornoz, Jawando, Glass) think of Marc Elrich?

You guys give Elrich too much credit. Most of the Council has sidelined him. I don’t expect it to be much different if he’s CE.

There have been some racist posts, but there is nothing racist about the above.
It is hard to argue that there isn't substantial income inequality and to a very large extent it breaks down along race. Of course what should be done about it is very much open to debate and there are plenty of reasons to criticize the solutions proposed above -- but that doesn't make it racist.
Someone arguing for greater steps to decrease income inequality -- through tax policy and beyond -- is very much in the keeping with the more liberal elements in the Democratic party today, such as Sanders, Warren, the woman from the Bronx who just won, etc.
Agree or disagree, but such thought is entering the mainstream of American politics right now.

Tax the rich? Not sure what the Jealous definition of rich is, but I bet anyone with a HHI of $200K and up will be screwed. Around here thats a lot of people. How else are we going to pay for free pre-k and college?
$200k+ is rich and Ia glad Jealous will tax them more heavily. It is needed to provide benefits and programs to those left behind by the current system. This will particularly help POC who face systemic discrimination, but poor whites will benefit too.
200K around here is not rich and you can be sure that a large number of those families who will be taxed will move the eff out of the state leaving the poor people behind. Good riddance.
Of course that is rich, even around here. You live a very privileged existence if you think it isn't. We shouldn't let the haves (who are almost exclusively white) prevent proper redistributive justice from being implemented with their blackmail threats about leaving. We will no longer be kept down.

We are also Republican and voted for Hogan. We’d like to continue voting for him because he is pro-business, however education is important to us.
