It boggles my mind that some on here are zeroing in on the child’s loss of his dog, over the child’s violent loss of his parents.

I love animals, but it’s proof of how emotionally stunted “dog people” are.


There is nothing anyone can do to get the child his parents back, or change what happened.
There is a possibility that his dog can be made sure to be well taken care, and available for him to be with it should it be possible in the future.

Perhaps that is why some people are talking about it.


This. My own kids love our dogs. In a horrible situation like this one I would think that it would be a great comfort to the family (and the boy in particular) to know that the dog was being cared for personally in a loving foster home.

WHY would you have assumed a therapeutic boarding school, though? We live in a time of mainstreamed white nationalism, with the NYT giving Nazis the soft-glove treatment. Of course this kid was free to terrorize the neighborhood with swastikas and had ready access to a firearm. That's America.


As mentioned most private schools, even those that work with learning issues, don't work with behavior issues. Also, many private schools tend to be on the more liberal side. White nationalism is not normal stuff in DC metro private schools as far as I know.

Can anyone else verify it was Flint Hill??


I doubt this is true, and if it were, I doubt any current parents want to verify that information.

In trying to find the WP swastika article, I found this other article on a swastika spray painted at a school (Prince William Academy) near Lorton. Maybe it is or is not related to this Lorton teen.

Potter said residents decided to send an emissary to the family’s home to discuss the swastika a couple days after it was discovered. Potter said the teen’s parents admitted he had mowed the symbol into the grass. She said they were aware of his behavioral issues and were getting him treatment.

So sickening. Unless they sent their neo-nazi son off to treatment camp for a half a year its NOT ENOUGH. Call the police.
