She thrives on her parent's opinion of her. She always felt growing up that she never measured up to their standards, so their approval was very important to her. Marriage is a big value to them, and she got caught red handed cheating. From what I understand, she is still very much on bad terms with her father as a result.
Ok gotta admit that’s pretty awesome.

No. Graduate stuxents doing work towards their PhDs get a salary called a stipend. That will be taxed. And if your employer gives tuition assistance that will be taxed.
It's more than just taxing the stipend. Many graduate degrees are tuition free. The GOP bill proposes to tax the value of that education. So right now, a grad student earns $20,000 and gets and education worth $80,000.
Right now, that grad student, if they have other income will pay on that $20,000. In the future, they would have to pay taxes on $100,000.
So much winning.

OMG you have to buy your own MOUSE PAD?!?! How can you afford that? I know I go through a mouse pad like, every week. And pens, please, I use like 1 whole pen every six months.
Not that it's acceptable for the government not to provide you with supplies, but let's not pretend we use as many supplies as a teacher does.

I don't have any of those. Never had any student loans, or uninsured medical costs. I have a PhD and a government job. I rent in NOVA. I make 120k a year, and no kids. I ran the tax comparison calculator and I'll be saving between $2,500 and $5,000 thanks to Trump.
You are such a hypocrite. The stipends you got for your PhD were tax-free but the Republican tax plan will make it taxable. So I guess now that you've got yours it's okay and we can tax the poor students that are in school now. I guess getting an advanced education isn't part of making America great again
When I was a grad student our stipend was taxable. And back then taxes started on much lower incomes than they do now. Grad students today make five or six times what I made.
I beg pardon. It's not the stipend rules they are changing but they make making tuition waivers taxable income.

My best revenge was doing absolutely nothing! My ex had an affair with a guy who was "far more exciting and wealthy" than me. As the divorce was being finalized I told her I thought the guy was a sleaze bag and couldn't be trusted. She said "You're just jealous." She married the guy and three years later he was arrested for fraud for having created a Ponzi like scheme including losing just about all she got out of the divorce. He went to jail, she divorced him and she now lives alone in a small rental. I remarried and I'm having a very successful career even if I'm not the most exciting guy on the planet. I actually feel sorry for her.

I’m not normally a revenge person. But I enjoyed this. I got divorced and bought his portion of the house, which I moved away from but kept and rented out. But, he didn’t file the quit claim deed. I asked him repeatedly to file it and he was really a jerk about it. I told him if he didn’t, I would get a lawyer involved and he just said I didn’t have the guts.
I consulted with an attorney friend who explained that since the decree clearly gave me the house, the Ex would be unable to make a claim on the house. I noticed that he was dating around that time, and that the relationship was serious. So I waited for them to have a baby knowing that she would likely be at home caring for the baby while he worked. So at that point, I had my divorce lawyer send a letter to their house, asking him to please file the quit claim deed, and included a check from me for the filing fee, and an explanation that all he had to do was sign and put it in the self addressed stamp envelope. She went ballistic on her public fb page about what a crappy husband he was and how he hadn’t even completed his end of our divorce.
