In what will sound as a contradiction, I have not comprehended there is a Heaven and that someday we will have an eternal picnic where everyone will sit around smiling.

That's a poetic post.

Also, some people are indoctrinated as small children into a religion that espouses an afterlife -- with rules and guidance about how to attain a positive one.

And some of these people, when they grow up, put their knowledge of science and their common sense up against what their religious indoctrination taught them and reject the religious teachings because they realize it doesn't make any sense.

People can still find comfort in some of the moral teachings of religion, without believing everything that they learned about the religion. Morals can be consistent over time, but scientific knowledge changes.

Yep. In terms of conscious knowledge this is what happens for sure.

Unconscious, I’m willing to admit a doubt our “spirit” lives on maybe as a 5% chance. But I’m 95% sure our consciousness /
Soul is a collection of elements that comprise our brains and make sure thing we ha e a “spirit” or “soul”

Death and pasting into nothingness doesn’t disturb me though....I fear pain yes, but blankets? No? (And I love life, no suicidal bit when it’s over it’s over)

So lucky the other train was not going your way..
