Even Renata, who I thought was going to be the villain after the first episode, has a warm, nurturing side as well as a cutthroat side. And I felt so bad for Madeline when her daughter decided to go live with Nathan. Her vulnerability was palpable. As for Nathan, I can't stand the actor who plays him. He mumbles everything he says.
I'm wondering if Bonnie, who so far appears to be angelic, will be shown to have a darker side? Perhaps she's the killer?!

This series is so well acted. And I just love how the Monterey setting plays its part as well.
The Monterey scenery is too die for. I love the opening credits with that fabulous bridge. We are Easterners, but have vacationed a lot out West.
I finally got DH to watch the show last night...and first thing he says is 'maybe we should move there'. We both love that climate and scenery.
It's put California on my list. We do a lot of international travel and DH has done a fair amount of California business travel but never when it was convenient for me to go. This scenery and climate (open doors from house to balconies and decks?!) really has me intrigued.
