If you had "cool" parents, you knew about cool 60s and 70s music too. While my mom listened to Joan Baez and other folk music, my dad had a ton of cool old records like Cream, Led Zeppelin, Velvet Underground, The Rolling Stones, even some early Bowie. And Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys. I loved going through his record collection and of course we had a huge cabinet stereo. We also knew a ton about disco and somehow had a ton of disco 8 tracks.

Speed Racer and Ultraman? Speed was on Saturday mornings, and Ultraman was on when I returned home from school.

You must be a first wave Gen X'er. Those are borderline 70s things.

The Wall was '79. That's not borderline.

the others? yes

They still influenced me as a kid. My parents switched from Neil Young to ABBA, etc... every weekend.

ZZ Top was big in the 80s too. Remember Sharp Dressed Man? Legs?

Yes, that's true! I always hated ZZ Top, however. Remember the Honeydrippers? Robert Plant!
