I'm a woman, married now with kids, but when dating always preferred to split the check. That way I didn't feel obligated to "put out". I wasn't the type to have sex without being in a promising, monogamous relationship. I believe in equality of the sexes. I understand that dating was different back when females didn't really work, and only the male had money to pay, but it's not like that anymore. Women can and should work, and therefore pay their way.
