Nice try in trying to deflect away from MadLax but aren't the Dogs, who have a majority Mater Dei, MadLax and aren't most of those kids Maryland based. You continue to bolster that there are a bunch of kids playing MadLax who are well into their 15th birthday. They were turning 15 last Fall. That's 5 months ago and they will be 20 years old graduating high school.

To everyone else, ask your club how old the roster is. If you find your kid and team is at a tremendous disadvantage, it's okay to go somewhere else. If your kid is over 15 and turning 16 either in 8th grade or shortly into their freshman year at Bullis, Prep, DeMatha, St. John's or wherever - it's a shame. Maybe it will be commonplace when they get older and they won't have to explain it to everyone else like you do now.

What's your point? That a team with a bunch of 15 year olds in 8th grade driving a car with a May/June/July birthday don't have an extraordinary advantage over other 8th graders who are 13 and 14?

I think older kids have an advantage, I think kids that go through puberty early have an advantage also.

I'm just pointing out that they are most likely 15 and 6 months in the Spring because if they are older they are not eligible to play for Gonzaga and Prep.

75% of Mater dei's 8th grade are 15.... I think that is crazy.

3 kids I don't think is crazy, it's actually normal for about 20% of boys to be held back 1 year even if they are born in the Fall.

I think the league should use birthdays.

In kindergarten, kids learn the alphabet and are beginning to learn how to read. By second grade, kids learn by reading. If your kid is 16 and is still in 8th grade, there's a stool and cap waiting for him in the corner...but he can still play w/ kids his own age. I had friends in 8th grade that played UP to play freshman lacrosse.

Wrong! you are not properly informed. Black Wolf 8th graders are playing in the HS division. They are playing UP not down. That is a fact. VLC kids are almost all public school kids and no older kids. This is a Madlax DC Dogs thing and maybe Crabs but Black Wolf is not even in the HOCO league so do not pin that on this team.

You are kidding yourself. The high schools do allow it but they aren't supposed to play sports their senior year but this rule is never enforced. O'Connel got caught a few years ago and they denied to the end until they couldn't anymore.

The HS tournaments and leagues do not enforce this. They also play teams that have PG programs like IMG and Culver who clearly have many 19 and some 20 year old players.
