Van dorn. Or is that too far for homeless people to walk? I was under the impression that they were going to be walking from school to school, hopping fences and terrorizing the students then settling I at the lobby of the old folks home to watch tv while they divide up what they stole that day.
It's not an "old folks home". It is a senior center, seniors coming and going, and they use the walking trail in the back where this proposed temp building will be place. The elderly are our most vulnerable. I am more concerned about that and the fact that the intersection there is a hot mess traffic wise as it is. This is a poorly thought out idea.

There are quite a few actually, mainly what the homeless people will do during the day, how to secure the vulnerable senior citizens and of course why they don't erect the shelter near the county government buildings where there is space and access to county resources

Uh no, the distance to the metro in way is over double. There and back would be 4.4 miles as opposed to under two. Are you stupid or something?
Yeah, it's way-too-far. But walking from the shelter to Parkland school and back is a piece of cake. Even though that is the same distance.
Y'all have some serious geography challenges. I lived there and used to walk to Van Dorn from time to time with a bag for the airport. It is not too far.
Actually google maps has VAn Dorn over double the distance.
I said there and back. The distance to get to the shelter is the same as the supposed round trip to terrorize park lawn.
