For an Asian kid with act of 31, too bad, you have to retake the test. Period.

A 31 is a pretty good score. Especially, if that's a Jr. year/1st time score without much in the way of review. Based on the schools my DS is looking at, I'd probably do some prep over the summer (Khan Adacemy, group sessions or private take your pick) and see if he couldn't bump it up 2-3 points in the fall.

100X THIS! the grades are actually more important than test scores. If you have mediocre grades and stellar test scores that can translate into being a lazy student.


Depends on the school, doesn't it? Some schools look at grades more than scores, some scores more than grades, and some, of course, both equally.

Curious what range of gpa you're talking about.
