Peer pressure scene? If you're at Shepherd, can you say more? My kid's at Shepherd and AA but in an early grade, so I haven't noticed this.

NP here. My kid is also at Shepherd in an early grade, and I have found fellow parents to be quite easygoing. I've attended the PTA meetings, Fall Festival, volunteered in the classroom, and am often with my kid on the playground after school, and I've really been appreciative of the friendliness and lack of snobbery I've noticed among the parents. The WoTP school my DC attended last year felt far more cliquish.

another vote for charters. I know ours has a lot of middle class/upper middle class black families.
