It's not lost on me that they got together when she was 29 - the same age I got married. He managed to find a person with his same egotistical, not mature personality. Bonus - she's willing to be a babysitter/ mom to our daughter so again, he can do whatever he wants to do, except be around for our daughter.

My ex is with someone 10 years younger than me; that's 13 younger than him. I met him when I was 26 and he was 29; she was 30 and he was 43. A lot of what you're saying about maturity is true for him too.

I met someone 5 years older than me.

I know a woman who is 41 and recently married a 30 years old man. She looks much older than him obviously but the issue is her DH is still very immature. Ironically she divorced a man who was her age precisely because he was immature among other reasons. And now she is dealing with a much more immature man. But this time around she has the upper hand because she is more successful and she she has more money. I think some women think that being the more successful one in a relationship may give them the upper hand as far as controlling the relationship in a way that they want. And for an older woman this is much easier to achieve with a younger man.

Men don’t have the advantage dating. Women will always have the ability to date older - a 20 year old woman can date a 35 year old just as easily as a 50 year old woman can date a 65 year old man. They may chose older because of the man’s higher social position or his wealth but will remain physically attracted to someone their age or younger, obviously.

I agree. I have the same number of friends who married way older men (more than 10 years) as friends who married younger men (most 2-5 years younger).

Read the "Low Sex Drive Partner" thread. This is a telationship killer and it simply does not happen with young women.

Of course it does, it depends entirely how much the young woman in question gets stressed by the marriage. Give her a couple of young kids, a full-time job, a house to maintain, some financial worries, too much housework, and you'll see how your hot sex blows out of the window, along with her complexion and sweet nature.


This is so, so true! It absolutely does happen with young women. The low sex drive has nothing to do with age (actually women's sex drive increases in their 40s, so ridiculous to say otherwise), and everything to do with the monotony of having the same partner.
