Ditto. We are awash in information, both online and on paper (I posted the Pyle retake policy earlier), and we have had excellent feedback and responsiveness from teachers. What people are claiming to be an MCPS policy of excluding parents is more likely a difference in teachers and school administrators.


I am the PP that posted the "ditto" above. Our child goes to Pyle. So there's one data point to prove it is not MCPS policy to keep parents in the dark.


Did you have a similar experience in elementary? Which one? Also, your data point may show that it's not mcps policy or may show not all schools follow the policy.


We did have more or less the same experience with more than one feeder elementary for Pyle/Whitman. Some teachers were more helpful than others. The elementary schools are far smaller than Pyle so I don't want to say where, esp. because the combinationof elementary schools would identify us.


No, I think I do believe her, though I wish she would identify one of the schools. It doesn't seem like that would be too risky.

OK, you're right, you've caught me. The fact that I don't want to name the schools my kid has gone to proves that I'm actually an MCPS administrator, making stuff up on DCUM at taxpayer expense.

If I told you, what would you do with the information? Would you move so that your kid can go to the schools my kid goes to?

My point is not that my kid's schools are better so nyah nyah nyah. My point is that it's not MCPS policy, because if it were MCPS policy, then all of the schools in MCPS would do it the same way -- but they don't.
