First off, these are not subway tiles. Even if they were, you are forgetting that the same materials can be used in different ways to achieve a completely different look. I'll use an analogy with cars. A Chevy Chevette has tires... and so does a Porsche. You wouldn't say ewww... that Porsche has tires on it. It's about how everything fits together.
If you ever know anything about the history of subway tile it was /is used in places like prisons, the subway system, hospitals etc... Those are definitely subway tiles in those prison pictures.

That grey wall tile is very prison like
Subway tile with contrasting grout has a very tailored, almost masculine kind of look. I think that's one of the reasons it works well in the bathroom above. It's offset nicely by the soft gray swirls in the marble, the glass knobs, and other, more feminine aspects of the room. The result is more balanced and not as frou-frou looking as the Saudi prince bathroom posted earlier.

Yes. 12 pages of people showing their privilege. Weird train wreck of a thread.

That PP definitely doesn't. He's just using this thread to push his Midwestern man-cave new-build tastes. He shows up in all these threads.
