There's nothing pushy or controlling about ASKING for something. And if she thought it was too much or too soon, then that's fine-- she's not the girl for him. You have nothing to lose when you ask for what you want.

It would seem a bit pushy and controlling if a man immediately starting talking about exclusivity.

She didn't do anything wrong. But I think he may actually be intimidated by what he saw, rather than offended -- especially if he saw her with some jockish, alpha dog-looking type.

If I was him, I might assume that I won't be able to compete with Tom Brady, and start investing my energy with someone else, where I have a greater chance of success.

This thread is practically a replica of the one with the guy who was upset about his GF's extensive sexual history. Probably the same poster trying to work something out.

I'm hoping Guy 1 in this scenario will learn his lesson: Next time, when you're dating a woman who you like, a bit of communication can go a long way.

Say, "Hey, I'd like to be exclusive with you, how do you feel about that?" Then your lady of interest can either say "yes!" and great, you start a relationship.

Or she'll say, "No, sorry, I'm fucking a couple of other guys right now and I'm not ready to give that up." And you'll say, "Bummer. See ya later."

Either scenario is way better than making an assumption about your relationship (that she's your girlfriend), and that you later surprised and hurt to find out was not based in reality... and that not only was this woman NOT actually girlfriend, but she was wearing her 3in heels on her dates with other men when you only got the 2in heel shoes!

I agree.

If she was dating multiple men, he should have clued the guys in so they knew. Especially since she felt guy #1 had LTR potential.

But it looks like she was trying to have her cake and eat it too. And would have probably dragged both guys on as long as she could. But since she got caught, she played the "Oh I realize I want to be with #1 if I have to choose".

Next time be open about dating multiple men so nobody feels screwed around. I know I would feel that way and would act the same way as #1 has reacted.

I think, for most men, the issue is not that she blew some guys at a party. The issue is that she blew a bunch of his acquaintances.

A big part of it is the fear of social judgment or ridicule from his coworkers.

You choose the partner for you based on your priorities. Mythical guy 1 should do the same. Others have different priorities and you don't get to dictate what will happen for everyone else.

That's not true for all the men here. There are a good number that feel like "her" primary issue was deception of guy 1 as to their actual relationship status.
