This thread has spun so wildly out of control that we're now parsing posts from 10 pages ago. All of need to get new lives (and this includes me for continuing to read it).

How is this making everything about race and racial hatred? How is this comparable to Jews hating or not hating all Germans?
No, the PP said that individual was bragging about starting slavery, that it was the same.
The Mayflower PP said, "I secretly think lots of the parents at our private school are first generation social climbers without any real class. My family came over on the Mayflower, so this stuff is irrelevant to me."
The next PP said, "This is akin to bragging that your family started slavery in the US."

Mayflower ancestors ==/== related to Hitler. The pilgrims and first settlers were often indentured laborers themselves. I learned this in public school, don't they teach this in private schools?
This probably is not a meaningful difference, from the point of view of the people who were here before the Pilgrims and "first settlers". (But I am not one of them and do not speak for them.)
In any case, what amuses me is the idea that one cannot be "low class" (whatever that means) if one's ancestors arrived on the Mayflower.

My boss graduated from Harvard's PhD program. Considering he has 5 mentors trying to train him to do his job, I am not impressed - especially since I'm the one DOING his job.
