I agree, most people DO have a choice.

I actually don't have a choice - I am raising my daughter alone. I am hoping at some point that I can cut back my hours - and that is only possible because I am super frugal. But at this particular moment - I have to work full-time so that we can survive. That said and I'm very lucky because my commute is only four miles. So DD will only be in aftercare a short time each day.

And she will know that her mother loves her, trust me. Unlike OP who probably starts up shit like this because she secretly hates her life even though she so desperately wants us to believe how awesome it is.

I don't think this is the case. Instead of wasting time in after care, her kids can take lessons, join sports teams, practice music, or just be at home.
