the camp is great, but don't do it, there are plenty of other good camps to choose from. you seem like you have issue(s) and probably would find things not to like about the people there.

Seriously though, it’s Opus Dei. Look it up and decide for yourself. I liked it, but my kid didn’t get in.

Please don’t prejudge this school based on your biases. The school has a podcast, HeightsCast, that talks about its philosophy. Listen to a few episodes and decide for yourself whether it promotes “toxic masculinity.” Half (most??) of the DCUM commentators on this subject are projecting their hatred on the right onto this school.

That’s helpful info., as we decide if we should apply. We plan to visit first, but it helps to hear from other parents.

How many kids come from VA/DC versus MD?
The two families we know (NOVA) love it, but the elitist comments from others at our school concerned me.

We also know of two families who did not get in this year. One was waitlisted for the lower school. The other was applying for upper school.
My son is currently a first grader, so we would start the process next year for third grade.
