Sounds harsh to most, but I appreciate it and see where he is coming from bc it's not about the body size it would be that I was a totally different person with different interests.

unlike a fat person a black person cant "lose black" or a gay person cant "lose gay" but a fat person can sure lose some weight and/or get on a plan that maintains a healthy life.
this isnt to say they need to look like a model cause im sure all of us saying something dont look like a hollywood star. regardless excusing being fat and enjoying eating and gorging isnt going to get sympathy from most people
The thing is, people like you want OP to loathe herself because she is overweight. Why? Is there any other characteristic you think is SO important - like you can't be sexy if you pick your nails, if you drink too much sometimes, if youwatch too much TV? For some reason, you want this ONE aspect of OP to take over anything that could possibly be good about her. What is your hang up? I could probably take better care of my skin - I guess I could lose dry skin, but does having dry skin make me objectively disgusting? No. So back off.
you must have missed the part where i said i was one of the first people to ask OP if she was happy to be the way she is and she responded yes. thats all i needed. i was mostly commenting on what i saw browsing through the other pages about people embracing too much being fat and trying to excuse it somehow.
be fat all you want and love yourself. just dont come on complaining about your status or embracing it to the point that you are putting your health at risk. there is nothing sexy about wanting to be fat and unhealthy. thats the genesis of my comment

There are plenty of "normal" guys just like him. Like I said before I want to lose weight soley for health reasons. I don't think I'm at a healthy weight. That said I'm not going to hate my body because it's not perfect. Yes I am sexy, yes I am beautiful, I'm fun to be around, I'm caring, and deserving of love.
I'm glad that you met a nice, normal guy who can appreciate you and is attracted to you. You are right that you are desrving of love. However, I don't think that there are "plenty" of normal guys that are attracted to overweight women. Yes, there are certainly a few, but most men are attracted to average to thin women, just as most women are attracted to average-sized men. It definitely makes the dating pool smaller if you are severely overweight. That's not a reason to feel bad about yourself, it sounds like you have found someone great, but to deny that this is the case doesn't make sense.
I see it as a fetish. If he usually dates bigger women, it's a fetish. Just like some men only date midgets. I doubt that guy just so happened to run into a lot of midgets... He seeks them.

Anonymous wrote:All the people throwing stones have problems...with themselves. OP likes herself and finds herself attractive still. There are men who like big women (esp true in minority communities). In these same communities, women who are really skinny aren't seen as attractive. Do you know how many black girls spent their teen years trying to gain weight?
I only bring this up to tackle the notion that OPs partner is the only man who will ever find her attractive. If you don't, fine, but she might not find you attractive either. Is it worth debating?
I feel really sorry for big women who hate themselves because other people don't approve. Not everyone who is big binges. Not everyone who is small eats healthy.
I feel sorry for your kids because many of you set a poor example. Its no wonder eating disorders are around.
