If anyone has any insight into the process, current dues & fees, etc., it would be appreciated. We would be interested in the pool / social (not golf) membership, and we are a married couple under 35 (I've heard some clubs give discounted membership rates to younger couples).
Thanks!
If you have to ask. You're not eligible. A member, or members, have to nominate you for membership and you asking a member to sponsor you is simply not done. CCCC is for old Washingtonians and legacy memberships, government dignitaries, e.g. US Senators, cabinet members.

He knows he might be blackballed by someone.
Can you imagine how embarrassing that would be for an ego like his? He'd never risk it getting out. Far better to just continue mooching.

what does that mean?
Anonymous wrote:Couple of questions. Where do you live? If you live in Rockville or SS or some other crappy place do not apply. Also what law firm or lobbying outfit does your husband work for? If he works for Dewey, Patton Boggs or QGA you're more likely to get in than if he works for some leftist outfit.

Let’s not hype it up too much - new members are friends with current members and have the money/interest to join. That’s it.

Anonymous wrote:Totally wrong on Chevy Chase politics. it's a wide mix of Republicans and Democrats. That tends NOT to be any kind of criterion for membership. The members tend to not discuss politics without first gently measuring the views of the person they are talking to. No one is interested in getting into a political duel while there. It's a time for friendship and relaxation. I'm a member and a moderate Democrat. One of my long time golfing friends is as liberal as anyone I know. Yet there are sure to be plenty of Republicans playing with us side by side, having a pleasant lunch or dunner with us, etc. And that's the way it should be.
Anonymous wrote:Can anyone share current initiation + annual dues info, and whether the initiation fee is paid all at once or over several years, as a PP mentioned? We have friends who have offered to sponsor us, but we aren't comfortable asking and though we could afford the numbers I've seen referenced upthread, I'd like to have a more concrete idea before we start the process. Also, we are big tennis players, but not particularly interested in golf. Have heard there's no non-golf membership option. Can anyone confirm?
