You need to stop offering to host parties. You're part of the problem. I bet your friends show up just to be nice, but are tired of buying crap from all your salespeople friends just so you can get a discount. Next time you want a fun little party, invite your friends over for drinks without a sales pitch for the entertainment.

I think you've missed the point completely. No one wants this stuff. It's overpriced, unattractive, and poorly made, and no one likes subsidizing their friend's career as part of a pyramid scheme. And I don't believe for a second that you're not a rep.

I bought several items at a party about a year ago. I like a few of the items I bought, despite being WAY overpriced. However, I bought a ring - which is supposedly "silver plated", and it's the first piece of jewelry I've ever owned that actually turned my finger GREEN. UGH. Terrible quality. I would never purchase from them again.

It was Inc. Magazine's 500 fastest growing companies. Fortune has had an article on the founder, and it sounds like it was a great business model for her. I'm not sold that the stylists are doing that well. And the reasons celebrities wear it is because its given to them free or they are paid to wear it. That's how celebrities roll.

I used to sell the stuff. Everything I bought to show at parties, is tarnished, broken, or I threw out! Even the friend who got me into it quit.... The quality sucks!!! I feel bad for the friends of mine that bought it.

I was invited to a party but couldn't attend, so bought a bracelet online because it was pretty & unusual & yes, I felt I owed my friend a purchase. Arrived very quickly, nice packaging, but I'm very disappointed with the quality - it feels plastic-y. Had ordered one of their necklaces off ebay before I received the bracelet, but my friend brought in the same necklace to show me and I instantly regretted it, again certainly not the quality I'd expect for £110 - which I'm glad I didn't pay! My necklace arrived with one of the links broken (it's repairable) but the fittings are very cheap & I suspect they'll break easily. It is exactly the same as the necklace my friend got for hosting the party so not a cheap ebay knock-off, just cheap.

Now, I have a LOT of jewellery. I have a LOT of costume/high fashion jewellery. I don't mind spending £45 on a bracelet or £110 on a necklace - I've spent more - and I like discovering new designers. However, the quality is shocking for the cost. I'll keep the items, but lesson learned - stick to your local, independent boutiques or, if online, designers known to you if expensive. And I'll be saying no hosting a party - none of my jewellery loving friends would buy this stuff.

I totally balk at these in home buying parties. I can't think of anything more low rent.

The products themselves, although look great, fall apart very quickly. They're probably the equivalent of H&M clothes in that you shouldn't feel bad about discarding them after only a few uses. However, these pieces are expensive, and I mean by a significant margin. For them to be flimsy is absolutely unacceptable.

As for the home parties, I decline invitations to go to those, as I really find them to be very insincere. (Friends and family are always the first people that new recruits to an MLM target.)

All in all, I give Stella & Dot a hard pass. For those people that say "But they are worn by celebrities! That accounts for something, right?" Yes and no. Yes, it gives the company exposure; no, because these celebs probably only wear them once and then throw them away—they have no first-hand experience on the jewelries' quality. Heck, they probably didn't even have to pay for them.

Very expensive for the quality of the product. They tarnish easily despite keeping it in a zip lock bag.

Like the style of the jewelry, but over priced for the quality. MAF

I made the mistake of ordering a bag from a Stella & Dot party (because the jewelry was less than impressive). She didn't have a sample of the one I liked but she told me it was leather and very nice. It's not. It's a pleather like material, I spent $150, and I don't think I'll ever use the bag. Disappointing.
