Literally cried tears of joy when kid was done with middle school. Someone on this thread or another one said PTSD, yep so relieved to be almost done.

They have got to spend $ on updating infrastructure. At ALL the schools. This is a school district bordering the CAPITAL of the US of A! Come on, now!!!

Take time off to process the PTSD from round 1 or round 2+ to get ready for round 2 or round 3+

Huh? The same way we got through it the first time. With love and patience and adapting. The sky is not falling.

Good for you

Many of the teachers were so-so, they put all of the IEP/504 kids in one or two classrooms each year turning those classrooms into challenging learning environments, and did a crappy job during COVID. I've had more issues with the way the principals run the schools in MCPS. Not addressing behavioral issues, not being aggressive dealing with bullies, catering to parents that barely parent, and not being strict enough on kids and teachers.

In our Mcps es, they put all the 504 and iep kids in one room. The only way out was to drop the iep, which we did as it was so bad and my child was getting physically attacked daily and teachers said the one child was hugging, which was unwanted by mine and couldn’t explain the bruises.

That’s it!!! The admins are truly what ruin schools 💯 they allow so much misbehavior from students and parents alike.

Because most of the people posting here are not MCPS parents. They are most trolls, private schools parents, other jurisdictions wannabes.
MCPS is the big Dog in the area, and everybody loves to hate on the big Dog.

Lol no

I am an MCPS parent and everyone I talk to IRL who currently has kids in MCPS is either really frustrated or purposefully tuned out because following the terrible decision making of the Superintendent and the BOE is stressful and infuriating and people don't have time for that so they just deal with it and quietly hire tutors

The 5 people you know IRL are not the majority of MoCo parents. Most are happy with MCPS.

DP. Asking parents to disbelieve their own experiences and hear from other parents in favor of a mythical "majority" is not a winning move.

DP.

Lived experience is not the absolute truth; it is merely one perspective of many.

“We are always hearing of people who are around seeking after Truth. I have never seen a (permanent) specimen. I think he has never lived. But I have seen several entirely sincere people who thought they were (permanent) Seekers after Truth. They sought diligently, persistently, carefully, cautiously, profoundly, with perfect honesty and nicely adjusted judgment—until they believed that without doubt or question they had found the Truth. That was the end of the search. The man spent the rest of his life hunting up shingles wherewith to protect his Truth from the weather.” - Mark Twain

If you look at the data from the school climate survey from 2023-24, only small minorities of parents gave MCPS an A. Most gave it a B or a C. obviously, they stopped asking that question in subsequent years.
