I want to knock some sense into them and tell them how fortunate they are. I'm embarrassed to tell any other parents this (most of whom would be over the moon with my kid's options), but instead I'm posting here on DCUM and wondering where I went wrong as a parent...

My kid is a freshman at Barnard. After she got in she was mad at herself she didn't apply to Columbia. She LOVES Barnard and it truly is the best of both worlds. Classes are smaller and profs more supportive at Barnard, and some Columbia kids that take Barnard classes say they prefer them. Of course the Barnard kids can take classes at Columbia, eat at the different halls, join their clubs/frats, work on Columbia's campus, and go co Columbia parties. I'd totally encourage Barnard!

They’ll all be fine tomorrow and will forget it in a few weeks,
What sucks is when you see in SCOIR that you are so much higher in stats than the kids where you end up going. Like, seriously???

Anonymous wrote:How many kids is Harvard waitlisting? I’ve already heard of several. Why waitlist so many kids when your waitlist generally doesn’t move??
