No, they will never release school over this. After school activities will go on as normal too, unless thunderstorms are actually hitting or forming at the time.

Some families who needs 2 income but sacrifice to give up one parent job so the other can take care the kids.
Family like mine, single parent who choose low pay flexible job so I will always available for my kids. I live way very modest for that.
Usually the loudest is the first group.
The entitlement.
In time like this they will blame the wind, blame the snow, blame the teacher, the schoolboard, the governer, the school bus driver who don’t have the skill to drive on the black ice.
They even blame the “kids that now are soft”, they blame the calendar, they blame people celebrating hanukah or eid or … whatever.
They feel like each of it owe them something. In fact nobody owe them anything.
Its called consequences of having kids.
