This thread is still alive?

This is the reality:

1. Posters who insist that it's still T14 or bust are wrong.

2. GMU's rep remains local, tainted in the eyes of many, and is nowhere near as nationally respected as its US News rankings.

The law and economics class aside which was a waste of time the education was first rate. You may think it's funny, but many clients care where their lawyers went to law school. Unless, they're seriously MAGA, they will be unimpressed with GMU.



I’m still waiting to hear which roofs at Scalia are ‘seriously MAGA” because I sure can’t name them. The clerks I know from there aren’t seriously MAGA. But the clients ARE very impressed to learn that the associate on their case worked for the district, appellate judge or SCOTUS justice who will hear the case.

OP you should include UVA law in your list because it’s only 2 1/2 hour drive out
of DC by car or train. And is ranked higher than any of the schools discussed here at #4 per USNWR.

Exactly. Lawyers who didn’t go to Yale/Harvard/Stanford/
Columbia law schools usually end up as Uber drivers.

Honestly, Georgetown is the only bankable school and even that is barely.

If I was a private lender and had to lend at my own risk to students for tuition at these schools, Georgetown is the only one i would be willing to lend to.

Sure there are plenty of success stories at all the others. But the percentages are bad.

Georgetown- loved it. So big but you bond with your section first year and size means there’s something for everyone.

Each of the high-paying white collar professions are full of people dissuading others from following in their footsteps. "Don't do it for the money, it's not worth it. Pick a career that you're passionate about." Unfortunately, few of the fun, passion-type careers are reliably lucrative.
