They use same buses to dismiss Frost MS students, then do the ESs then come back to get WooHS. RideOn buses were being used along the WooPrkwy

According to other parents on here its the safest best school. We can thank Jwando, the BOE, Taylor and Central Office. Many of us have expressed safety concerns and nothing has changed in years.

All schools need support. A W school should need way less support per DCUM W parents as everything is perfect.

+1 on this. I’m sure more can be done about gun laws, especially access to guns / registering them, holding more parents accountable for kids shooting kids, etc. But wtf are our tax dollars paying for if we can’t trust our schools to keep our kids safe? Close all but 1-2 doors in schools, have metal detectors, and other relevant tech to ensure safety. It’s a small price to pay to know our kids are more safe in school…

At the W high school my kid goes to there are only 2 doors that are open to get into the school in the morning. That’s where the IDs are checked.

At my upcounty HS, we have 65 doors but they only allow the students to come in through the front 4. We don't check IDs though. The issue is that at any time throughout the day, there is always a door somewhere in the school being propped open by a student to let a friend in.

All doors except for the main entrance should be locked at all times and if propped, an alert goes off to the security team so they can quickly shut the door with the push of a button. At my daughter's school, if you prop a door, and they do have cameras at all doors, you will be able expelled. The main entrance is the only open entrance students, staff and visitors may use and has a metal detector that has weapon detection as do all daps secondary, middle and high schools. Some even have xray machines. MCPS has to make some improvements. I cannot believe that metal detectors aren't in every MCPS high school.

I thought we had strict gun control laws in Md / moco? I guess not.

I don’t think I missed PP’s point and I’m not ok with someone who feels at peace with a classroom full of kindergartners being shot to death.

What have you done about it in the past 20 years, warrior?

Gone to the March for Our lives (with my kids), joined the national and local chapters of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense and donated to them and knocked on doors for candidates who support common sense gun safety measures that would protect my kids.

No, I will never accept or be “at peace” about what happened at Sandy Hook. I choose not to be. Enjoy lamenting about how nothing will change while you do nothing on DCUM.

I was basically responding to prior posts that say gun laws are already strict and the process of buying a gun LEGALLY is difficult in MD. If a kid wants a gun, they don't need to get it from their parents. I'd imagine a good amount of teenagers in the county know how they can get one

A gun can be 3d printed. Trigger locks can only help so much.
