Are you concerned about dual loyalties? Is that the problem?

What would happen if a naturalized American from Ethiopia would become a representative in Congress and support Ethiopia's interests in this dispute? Same for Taiwanese-born and Chinese-born representatives.
Not that members of Congress don't take sides, for a variety of reasons. But allegiance to a foreign community, and it's homeland, in the halls of Congress, is alarming.

You really need to educate yourself. A lot of immigrants come from nationalistic cultures, and learn to love their country and people from a young age. They come here to better their country and their community, aka the American dream. Shes still loyal to the United States and sees herself as part of the wider community.

Cuban expats have long had oversized influence in politics besides the Israel lobby, besides her district being 80% white. And they are far from the only expat or diaspora communities that pursue interests related to their countries of origin, including through politicians elected from among their own communities. And she is one Congresswoman in a House of 435.
This had to do with Somaliland giving Ethiopia access to the Somali Sea in 2024.

I would totally be fine if we got rid of dual citizenship for people who are in federal government jobs. That includes a hell of a lot of dual American/Israeli citizens.
