That was harsh. I made that money for 3 decades while raising a family. 40 hours are easily available. My own kid started in the same business. He works quite a lot after school as they can't find workers either.
Right now we need 5 people making $30+ an hour. My kid's work needs 20 (indeed.com). It's a big place.
The make $40+ an hour.

ATCs have potential early retirement at age 50, benefit from an enhanced federal pension formula, a government match to their TSP account, and excellent health insurance which can be carried into retirement. They can earn up to 26 days of vacation, earn sick leave, and receive paid holidays.

If they find the time to marry and have a successful marriage, the spouse will receive the survivor benefit because the ATC, like LEO, will die young due to stress related illnesses.

And people who need to often work more than one job. You do what you have to to improve your circumstances, or not - it's up to you.
