Because there are no real problems in the world beyond Sherrone's love life and career.

Not saying it should be. Just saying it is.

This is beyond shocking and way surpasses what Mel Tucker did at Michigan State. Dude just torpedoed his life. What an unbelievable fall from grace. What a scandal that likely will get uglier as more details come to light in the next few days.
Given the sizable contingent of folks here who dislike Michigan, feel free to take your shots at the school. We deserve it.
The university =\= their football team
Well...not so fast. In the words of a former great University of Oklahoma football coach (Barry Switzer) : I want a university that the football team can be proud of.
Because of Oklahoma's playoff game with Alabama next Friday, the school announced that final exams that day will all be moved up, giving students less time to prepare. Now that's a unibersity the football team can be proud of 😃. Also, coincidentally perhaps, Sherrone Moore played at Oklahoma.

Matt Weiss was fired in 2023 as Michigan's co-offensive coordinator. From 2015 to 2023, Weiss allegedly gained access to the databases of more than 100 colleges and universities that were maintained by a third-party vendor, Keffer Development Services, and then downloaded personal information and medical data of more than 150,000 athletes, the indictment states.
He then got access to the social media, email and cloud storage accounts of more than 2,000 athletes as well as more than 1,300 students or alumni from schools across the country, according to the indictment.
'Weiss primarily targeted female college athletes," the indictment said. "He researched and targeted these women based on their school affiliation, athletic history and physical characteristics. His goal was to obtain private photographs and videos never intended to be shared beyond intimate partners."
Weiss kept notes on photos and videos that he downloaded, commenting on the bodies and sexual preferences and sometimes returning years later to look for new images, the indictment said.

Whole place feels a bit unsettled.
Good thing the Tommy Carr bleeds blue.
It's a university. Teaching happens there. The top administrator matters most to middle-faculty-management, the Regents, and politicians. The person running things now is an experienced Michigan employee.
What goes on in the athletics department has nothing to do with classroom work, ECs, etc.
I wonder if the same defense would apply to Penn state. Like it or not, the athletics department is the department that has the most interaction with the nation as a whole, and is a reflection of the schools values. Between harbaugh, Juwan Howard, and now Sheron Moore, it’s it a positive reflection of the university’s values, but unfortunately it’s probably accurate.
