DP. Of course Republicans are fine with certain criminals. The entire administration, from the top down, is composed of criminals. I agree that their outrage is selective.

But petty crime and quality of life issues and violent crime in cities (which is very visible to anyone who lives or spends time in cities) is a separate issue and it is absolutely true that there are certain truths that mainstream Democratic politicians won’t say aloud, or create policy solutions and priorities to address, because they don’t conform with modern leftist ideas about equity and racism. That annoys people, including Democrats (I am one). Are the Republicans acting in bad faith by focusing on these types of crime and completely ignoring other types of crime, like grift and the completely naked corruption of the Trump and his associates in the administration? Sure. But it’s not a reasonable or persuasive argument to just start screaming about corruption and J6. It's not that Dem politicians don't want to take criminals off the streets, the do. However, they are aware of the downstream consequences of removing parents from their children and other ancillary effects of breaking up families which tends to continue the cycle of poverty, violence and drug use. Yes, it could all be done in a much better way. Europeans seem to have some good solutions but those would probably never fly here because of the prison industrial complex that are big donors to the GOP.

Nah, the democrats would never highlight any type of violent crime, including sexual assault, because the disproportionate amount of black and brown faces they would be forced to show on TV would be racist. The democrats would NEVER allow a deep dive into crime-- doing so would ALWAYS increase Republican votes.

Really? Is that why democrats worked to preserve and expand VAWA? Is that why they got the Take It Down Act passed? Or spearheaded funding to test backlogged rape kits in multiple jurisdictions? What exactly are Republicans doing because throwing hissy fits about fictional litter boxes in schools?

DP...I understand how city government works. The officials are elected, just like at the state level. And for some reason they keep electing Democrats. Maybe because Republicans sit there complaining about the crime but don't offer any actual solutions.

Repubs have great solutions actually. Build more prisons, hand out longer sentences, more lethal injections. The dems and the democrat voters don't like that because they're pro criminal!

And as you force more people into poverty and starvation with your bad policies, crime will continue to rise and you will have to keep building prisons until finally everyone's imprisoned.

Who's going to pay for all those prisons when there's no taxes because you won't tax the rich and you've driven the working class into poverty?
