I posted earlier. I have a neighbor who is a major general. From previous year’s conversations I know he and his family are not favorable of the Trump administration and are the opposite of MAGA, but opinions have not been shared much at all during this term.
They take an oath to the Constitution. Here are the oaths of office:
Oath of Enlistment
The current wording of the military oath of enlistment is as follows:
"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.".

Oath of Office
For those entering as officers, the wording is slightly different:
"I, _____ (SSAN), having been appointed an officer in the _____ (Military Branch) of the United States, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter; So help me God.".

Are you under the impression that the 18 year olds taking this oath are somehow constitutional scholars? They are not tasked with understanding the constitution or weighing the legality of the orders of their superiors. They follow this oath by following orders. The legality of those orders, if under question, will get determined in a courtroom, not by a teenager in uniform.
Please stop expecting the troops to magically start resisting for us. They will not. Not anymore than our congresspeople are going to fight for us, not anymore than our courts are going to fight for us. Institutions are not going to save us. Everyone is standing around waiting for someone else to step in.

Honestly, as out there as this seems, it also seems likely.
Know what other country does stuff like this? North Korea. They'll recall all of a certain category of diplomat or military attache. You have to show up but you also know that someone (hopefully not you) is going to the gulag or to execution at that gathering.
This does seem likely.
I hope the men and women of the military stand strong.
